This long running drama series revolves around two protagonist brothers who start caring for each other after being embroiled in bitter rivalry. The plot focused on basketball initially where the brothers were shown as high school kids. The fictitious town as well as the name of the show was taken from the song of the same name. Mark Schwahn toyed with the idea of making a movie based on the storyline but changed his mind later on. The series had a brilliant run particularly in its second season when it enjoyed a viewership of 4.3 million every week. One Tree Hill went on to win the Teen Choice awards.

Episodes of One Tree Hill

Each episode of One Tree Hill follows a similar structure. Viewers of the series do not have to worry if they miss any particular episode. A recap of the previous day’s events is usually shown at the beginning of each episode. The theme song played during the first four seasons had become familiar but was abandoned with the commencement of the fifth season. You will now only see the title written against a black background.

The series has also become well know for its narration specialty. Voiceovers have been used extensively all through the seven season long series. Literary quotes or recalling of past events are almost always depicted with the help of voiceovers. The main character Lucas Scott played by the actor Chad Michael Murray is the one subjected to most of the voiceovers. Bryan Greenberg, Torrey DeVitto and Ashley Rickards have also lent their voices in different episodes as guest stars. A few of these episodes have also featured multiple narrators.

Timeline of One Tree Hill

The creator, Mark Schwahn has created a complex timeline for this popular television series. The main characters are shown as sixteen year old high school boys at the beginning of the series. The first and the second season of the show together constitute a year. Likewise, the third and the fourth year sees the boys turn older by yet another year. However, the series takes a four year leap during the fifth season. Conseqently the brothers are young adults aged twenty two during this season. The seventh season is expected to add yet another year to the age of the brothers after it commences with the end of the sixth season.

Music plays an important part in each of the episodes of One Tree Hill. The director helps to tie up unconnected events together with the help of the song. It also helps to set the mood for each episode. Interestingly, a lot of the episodes of the serial are named after the songs. The musical performances of One Tree Hill are mostly set in the dance-club ‘TRIC’ and ‘Karen’s Café’.

One Tree Hill has released three soundtracks so far. Proceeds from the sale of The Road Mix: Music from the Television Series One Tree Hill is used for helping the patients fighting breast cancer. The music from the sixrth season has been published in “Music From One Tree Hill” . One Tree Hill is the first non-cable network television series to ever have a licensed Led Zeppelin song on their show. The song Babe I’m Gonna Leave You has helped the show create history in its third season.
